Kalin Devone is a painter living and working in Charlotte, NC. She was born in 1993 in Wilmington, NC. She recently obtained a BFA in Painting from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a figure painter with a focus on the human body. Her work conceptually derives from the effects of social media on her generation and how that shapes individuals portrayed identities. Upon graduating she plans to continue teaching art classes to children from low income neighborhoods, and to also research and inquire about The Savannah School of Art and Design for a masters in Art Therapy.
Recent group exhibitions include her senior exhibition show Idiosyncrasy at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her recent awards in the art field include: The 2013 Student Union Juried show in Second place. The 2014 Student Union Gallery Show in first place and the 2015 Annual Juried Exhibition at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, placing Best in Show.
